Description

The Library of Virginia is the Commonwealth’s library and archives, housing an extraordinary collection of documents, manuscripts, and records that preserve Virginia’s history. Located in downtown Richmond, it also serves as a resource for researchers, genealogists, educators, and the general public.

 

About the Library of Virginia: Established in 1823, the Library of Virginia is the state’s oldest cultural institution. It provides free access to historical records, government documents, exhibitions, and educational programs that enrich understanding of Virginia’s heritage.
